Citronelle Historical Society sponsored the annual reenactment of the 1865 surrender of Lt. Gen. Richard Taylor.
The surrender took place in Citronelle when the last organized Confederate forces, Dept. of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana surrendered to Major Gen. E.R.S. Canby.
