St. Paul’s romps past Faith; Clarke County, Chickasaw get last-second wins

St. Paul’s 43,

Faith Academy 0

Visiting Class 6A St. Paul’s held 5A Faith to only two first downs while the Saints rolled up 310 yards of total offense in a 43-0 road victory.

Kenny Johnson was 9-of-14 passing for 102 yards and found Carson Stephens for a 14-yard touchdown and Tate Johnston for a 26-yard TD. Johnson also ran 9 yards for a score and Johnston had a 31-yard scoring jaunt. Anthony Frasier had a 49-yard scoring run and Roberts Law a 2-yard TD for St. Paul’s.

Jackson 55,

LeFlore 20

E.J. Crowell rushed for 130 yards on just four carries, including touchdown runs of 70 and 7 yards, and Omarion King caught four passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns and returned an interception 50 yards for another score for the Class 4A-No. 1-ranked Aggies.
King’s touchdown receptions covered 58 and 6 yards from Landon Duckworth, who completed 5 of 12 passes for 141 yards. Duckworth also had a 3-yard touchdown run and Demetrius Wilson returned a fumble 14 yards for a score.

McGill-Toolen 42,

Davidson 13

Ladarian Miller rushed for 180 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns and caught a TD pass for the host Yellow Jackets, who rolled to victory despite giving up 331 yards rushing to the Warriors.

Quarterback Andrew Murchison was 13-of-18 passing for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Murchison tossed a 19-yard TD pass to Miller, a 19-yard scoring pass to Jack Lenaghan and a 6-yard TD pass to James King.

LaMarian Miller had a 65-yard pick-six for McGill-Toolen.

Edward Harrison had a 74-yard touchdown and ran for 131 yards on 15 carries for Davidson. Terrance Gray added 136 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.

Clarke Co. 30,

Millry 27

Lucas Kelly drilled an 18-yard field goal as time expired to give the Bulldogs the win over the Wildcats. TaMyus Pugh completed 12 of 19 passes for 80 yards and JaMarcus Washington scored on a 78-yard touchdown run and had two TD receptions of 80 and 85 yards for CCHS. Hisan Marlowe had 16 carries for 85 yards and one touchdown for Millry.

Chickasaw 8,

Fruitdale 7

 

Marvin Brooks blocked a field goal attempt by the Pirates’ Brock Williams with three seconds left to preserve the Chieftains’ road win.

Chickasaw scored with 42 seconds left in the first half as Sydrus Gilmore found Robert Moore for a 30-yard touchdown pass. Gilmore ran for two to make it 8-7.

Fruitdale led 7-0 in the second quarter on Remi Coaker’s 65-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Reed.

 

Crenshaw Christian 50,

Jackson Academy 12

Eagles quarterback Huntley Dees managed a 30-yard touchdown run and a 50-yard scoring pass to Thomas Kimmons but Crenshaw’s relentless ground game proved too much.
