MOBILE — Anthony “Tank” Jones scored on a 1-yard run in overtime, then tacked on the winning two-point conversion as St. Paul’s edged UMS-Wright 29-28 at Erwin S. Cooper Stadium Friday night.
Hayden Fincher completed 12 of 21 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, Anthony Frasier rushed 12 times for 78 yards and a 5-yard touchdown and Parker Dennis caught a 31-yard touchdown pass to tie the game and send it into overtime as the Saints took a 24-23 lead in the series.
UMS-Wright’s Max Fowler completed 23 of 34 passes for 230 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Caplyn Reed in overtime. Fowler also scored on a 1-yard run, while Richard Scott scored on a 13-yard run and finished the night with 93 yards on 11 carries. Perry Hand scored on a 4-yard run.
Mobile Christian 48,
Chickasaw 0
MOBILE — Mobile Christian grounded out 343 rushing yards, with Jason Todd picking up 174 yards on 13 carries and a pair of rushing touchdowns, as the 4A Leopards beat visiting 2A Chickasaw 48-0 at Harrison Stadium Friday night.
Todd scored on runs of 12 and 81 yards while attempting only 13 carries. Quarterback Landon Stewart was 6-of-9 passing for 66 yards and chipped in 64 yards rushing with TD runs of 1 yard and 57 yards.
Xavier Harris gained 89 yards on 11 carries and scored on a 23-yard run while Sema’J Law caught 4 passes for 49 yards and a 28-yard touchdown.
Defensively, A.J. Frieson scored on a 35-yard pick-six, Ladouglas Jones had an interception and Roosevelt Patterson III recovered a fumble for the victors.
The Chieftains’ Sydrus Gilmore had 99 yards on four receptions.

Baker 42,
Theodore 31
MOBILE — Jailen “Speedy” Wheeler rushed for 184 yards on 20 carries and scored twice on the ground and once through the air to lead Baker over Theodore 42-31 Friday night.
Wheeler scored on runs of 49 and 4 yards to give coach Eric Scott the victory in his debut as the Hornets’ coach.
“I’m not sure if all the victories will be this exciting but we fought through some adversity and came out on top,” Scott said.
The Bobcats, who trailed 21-7 at one point, had rallied to take a 31-28 lead on J.J. Bush’s second touchdown run with 2:14 remaining.
But Khatori Marion returned the ensuing kickoff 87 yards to put Baker in front 35-31. On Theodore’s next possession, Jerrod Grissom’s 26-yard pick-six off Crishon Overton sealed the victory.
“It was an outstanding game by both teams in the heat, 73 points combined, back and forth,” Bobcats coach Steve Mask said. “I’m proud of our team. We fought back but came up short.”

CHATOM — Shamar Toodle tossed three touchdown passes as Cottage Hill Christian Academy defeated Washington County High 47-26 Friday night.
Toodle’s TD throws went to Caleb Metzner (37 yards), Shadarius Toodle (6 yards) and Trevor Thomas (30 yards).
Shadarius Toodle also had a 6-yard TD run and Shamar Toodle and Kaden Nguyen each had 5-yard TD runs.
The Bulldogs’ Conner Williams threw for two touchdowns, a 12-yarder to Ty Owens and a 35-yarder to Logan Roscoe. Kellin May added an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Braxton Evans had a 15-yard scoring run.
