BAY MINETTE — Kam Smith and Thomas White each ran for more 100 yards to pace No. 4-ranked Mary G. Montgomery to a 45-0 win over Baldwin County Thursday night at Lyle Underwood Stadium.
Smith ran for 106 yards on eight carries and a pair of touchdowns on runs of 4 and 76 yards. White added 100 yards on 11 carries for the Vikings (6-0), who had 288 yards on the ground.
MGM has outscored its last three opponents 132-7, allowing just one touchdown in the past 12 quarters.
“I think we played one of our cleanest, most efficient games of the season in all three phases,” said Vikings coach Zach Golson, who has MGM off to a 6-0 start for the second time in three years. The program’s only other 6-0 start was in 1965 under Charles Leverette.
Quarterback Jeremy Menhennett completed 15 of 24 passes for 163 yards and a pair of TDs, a 3-yarder to Jaden Chapman and a 46-yarder to Jakenyon Allen.
Menhennett added a 14-yard run to open the Vikings’ scoring.
Jake Gordon kicked a 25-yard field goal as time expired in the first half to give the Vikings a 31-0 lead as they scored on all five of their first-half possessions.
Meanwhile, the Tigers (0-5) managed just 149 yards of total offense against MGM and Connor Tillman added a 66-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.
“We are getting better all around as a defense, communicating, tackling and coming together,” MGM defensive lineman Kaleb Morris said.
