HARRIS THROWS FOR 2 TDs,

IRVINGTON — Shondell Harris completed 11 of 16 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns as No. 6-ranked Mary G. Montgomery defeated Alma Bryant 31-6 at Hurricane Stadium Thursday night.
Harris’ touchdown passes covered 33 yards to Skylar Bush and 15 yards to Trakarris Collier. Kaleb Morris returned an interception 65 yards for a score, Thomas White scored on a 2-yard run and Cooper Williams kicked a 35-yard field goal for the Vikings (6-1, 4-0 7A Region 1), who lead their region.
MGM’s defense, the best against the score in Class 7A at 9.8 points per game coming in, allowed a late Bryant touchdown after building up a 28-0 lead.

MADDOX, WITHERS LEAD
NO. 9 WILLIAMSON’S ROUT

MOBILE — Willie Maddox rushed for 121 yards on just seven carries and a pair of touchdowns to lead No. 9-ranked Williamson to a 63-0 rout of Faith Academy Thursday night at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Maddox scored on runs of 48 and 36 yards and Todrick Withers added 78 yards on six carries, including TD runs of 54 and 4 yards, as the Lions improved to 7-0 for the first time since 2000 and moved into the lead in 5A Region 1 at 4-0.
