Crowell sparks Jackson past Makos, 40-13

ORANGE BEACH — E.J. Crowell ran for three touchdowns to lead No. 1-ranked Class 4A Jackson to a 40-13 victory over Orange Beach Thursday night.

Crowell, the nation’s top-rated running back in the 2027 class, opened the game with a 40-yard TD run in the first quarter and added a 10-yard scoring run in the second quarter and broke an 80-yarder in the third quarter.

The Aggies (7-1, 4-0 45A Region 1) have outscored their four region opponents 187-49 and have won seven straight games since a season-opening loss to No. 1-ranked Class 6A Saraland.

 

 

Miller runs for 150, Jackets beat Blount, 24-6

MOBILE — Ladarien Miller rushed for 150 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns to lead McGill-Toolen to a 24-6 win over Blount Thursday night at the Archbishop Lipscomb Complex.

Andrew Murchison tossed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Dorian Coker and Jack O’ Neil booted a 30-yard field goal for the Yellow Jackets (4-3, 3-2 6A Region 1).

Jerome Williams dashed for a 40-yard TD on the Leopards’ first possession and finished with 114 yards on 14 carries for Blount (1-5, 1-4).
