Citronelle edges B.C. Rain on Helton’s field goal; MGM, Vigor, Williamson, Leroy, Millry win

CITRONELLE — Easton Helton’s 35-yard field goal with 1:43 left gave Citronelle an emotional 22-21 win over B.C. Rain Friday night.

The Wildcats (6-2, 3-2 5A Region 1) played without quarterback Daylon Edmunds, who was suspended from the team and from school after being involved in a scuffle involving his father and the parent of another Citronelle player last week. Citronelle coach Jason Rowell declined to comment on Edmunds’ status going forward, saying his future is up to the administration.

Eli Owens scored on a 1-yard run and a 96-yard kickoff return.

 

MGM 35, Fairhope 20

SEMMES — Shondell Harris rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown and threw for 150 yards and an additional score to lead the No. 4-ranked Vikings past the Pirates.

Harris threw an 18-yard scoring pass to Jakenyon White, then ran for a 1-yard score. Thomas White scored on a 14-yard run, Devin Pettway on a 1-yard run and D.J. Broughton on a 22-yard jaunt for MGM (7-1, 5-0 7A Region 1).

Vigor 48, Faith 7

MOBILE — Kelvin Brisker ran for three touchdowns as the No. 4 Wolves slammed the Rams.

Jabarrius Garror scored on 5-yard scoop-and-score and reserve quarterback Keviasz Malone tossed a 13-yard TD to Gerritt Holcombe.

Demetris Johnson rambled 29 yards for a touchdown and Jamaries Robinson raced 58 yards for another score for Vigor.

Williamson 20, UMS-Wright 9

MOBILE — Alvin Dinkins passed for 168 yards and one touchdown and the No. 8 Lions’ defense forced two turnovers.

Dinkins tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Jaydrick Jowers and Jermaine Mccree added an 86-yard kickoff return for Williamson.

Leroy 28, S. Choctaw 6

LEROY — Ja’Kevian Collins scored three touchdowns as the No. 2-ranked Class 1A Bears pulled away from the Indians.

Collins scored on runs of 2 and 40 yards and a 50-yard pass from Brayden Dixon. Leroy also got a 10-yard TD pass from Jace Sellers to Josh Reed.

Millry 63, J.F. Shields 0

MILLRY — Jackson Waite was 4-of-8 passing for 131 yards and three touchdowns in one half as the Wildcats rolled to a home victory.

Waite hit Wesley McIlwain with a 26-yard TD pass and McIlwain recovering a fumble for a score TD.

McIntosh 8, Marengo 0

MCINTOSH — Quarterback Issac Reed found Kevonte Diamond with a 13-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and Diamond forced his way into the end zone on a two-point conversion as the Demons (1-7) took their first win of the season.

Clarke Co. 47, Chickasaw 8

GROVE HILL — TaMyus Pugh threw two touchdown passes and Ethan Henson added two TD runs for the Bulldogs (5-2, 4-0 2A Region 1), who held the Chieftains to 55 total yards in winning their 20th straight region game.
