SPANISH FORT — Kendrick Able rushed for 174 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown and J.J. Bush scored on runs of 46 yards and 1 yard as Theodore knocked off No. 9-ranked Class 6A Spanish Fort 28-17 on The Hill Friday night.
Crishon Overton completed 10 of 16 passes for 62 yards and added a TD run for the Bobcats (1-1, 1-0 6A Region 1).
The Toros (1-1, 0-1) got 124 yards on 13 carries from Justin Bonner and 11-of-20 passing for 72 yards and a touchdown from Aaden Shamburger.
Spanish Fort jumped on the board early when Dwaynius Harris picked off a hurried Overton pass and returned it 45 yards for a score with 7:55 to go in the first quarter. Bush answered two possessions later when he burst up the middle for a 46-yard touchdown run to tie the game 7-all.
Willie McCovery’s 6-yard touchdown reception from Shamburger with 8:15 left in the second quarter put the Toros back on top but Theodore would not be denied as Overton scored on a 1-yard run to tie the game at 14 with 4:35 left in the half.
Spanish Fort broke the tie in the third quarter when Zachary Megie connected on a 31-yard field goal but the Bobcats asserted their running game in the fourth quarter and took the lead on Bush’s 1-yard run with 7:26 to go. Able’s 5-yard touchdown run with 1:48 left in the game sealed the win.

GULF SHORES — Thomas White’s 7-yard run with 9:13 left put No. 6-ranked Class 7A Mary Montgomery ahead and the defense held the Dolphins on the final three drives of the game to preserve a 22-19 win Friday night.
“It was a tough road win,” MGM coach Zach Golson said. “We’ve got a lot of respect for them. That’s why we scheduled this game.”
The Vikings (2-0) have won 11 straight regular-season games.
Gulf Shores got three touchdowns from Carter Davis, including the first play from scrimmage on a 41-yard scoring pass from Jud Harris. Davis added TD runs of 14 and 6 yards.
MGM answered with Shondell Harris’ 1-yard TD run and D.J. Broughton’s 21-yard reception from Jeremy Menhennett to take a 14-13 lead at halftime.
“I told the guys at half we knew we were in for a battle,” Golson said. “We felt confident down the stretch in our defense to make the plays and they did.”
Davis’ 6-yard run put the Dolphins up briefly 19-14 with 11:30 left but Vikings defensive star Devin Pettway returned the kickoff 21 yards after Gulf Shores took the lead to put MGM at midfield and White’s 7-yard TD run put the Vikings ahead.
Kam Smith rushed for 107 yards on 20 carries for the Vikings.

BAYOU LA BATRE — Quarterback Tate Graham threw for 375 yards and six touchdowns to lead visiting Baker to a 48-14 road win over Bryant Friday night.
Graham was 14-of-20 passing, tossing scores to Josh Jones (4 receptions, 139 yards) of 61, 35 and 33 yards, a 20-yard TD to Payton Mathis, a 49-yarder to Jailen Wheeler and a 10-yarder to Khatori Marion.
The Hornets (2-0) built a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and finished with 431 total yards of offense.
Makai Vongsengphachanh rushed 12 times for 81 yards and was 3-of-10 passing for 40 yards and a touchdown for the Hurricanes (0-1).
