Vallon knocks Broadhead out of Chickasaw mayoral runoff

CHICKASAW — Incumbent Chickasaw Mayor Barry Broadhead was knocked out of a runoff by Bill Vallon when the city council certified the results of the Aug. 26 election.

On Election Night, Challenger Tyran Colvin led the race with 393 votes and Broadhead edged Vallon 208-207 to make the Sept. 23 runoff. But when the council canvassed the vote Tuesday night, Vallon received five provisional votes, giving him 212 and putting him in the runoff with Colvin.
