Making some noise: Saraland volleyball coach Dana Kelly Mason craves the sounds and the success of competition

October 23, 2024 |

By JIMMY WIGFIELD SARALAND — The desire to win does not always end when Saraland coach Dana Mason walks off the volleyball court. Her husband, Jay Mason, can attest to that. “When we first got married, we had this little shed in the back yard and we would go out there and most people would just have fun playing ping pong,” she said. “Well, we are just going at it, super competitive, like I’m not going to lose.”…

Kalen DeBoer deserves a chance but he has a lot of issues to fix; if he doesn’t, low Tide is yet to come

October 21, 2024 |

That is because some of the more insufferable Crimson Tide fans believe that DeBoer is faking being a coach. That’s lunacy, of course, but it’s an easy condemnation coming from those in the fan base who would misspell an X and an O, even if given…
