Vigor violates transfer rule, forfeits win over UMS-Wright

Staff Report

Vigor High School has been fined and forced to forfeit its win over UMS-Wright earlier in the season for using an ineligible player, according to the Alabama High School Athletic Association.

The AHSAA said the school violated its transfer rule and must forfeit the 31-9 win over the Bulldogs on Sept. 22.

Coupled with Friday night’s 21-13 loss to Faith Academy, the Wolves are now 4-2 overall and 3-2 in 5A Region 1.

Pell City was also cited by the AHSAA for the same violation of the transfer rule and must forfeit its lone victory, a 24-16 win over Center Point, which drops the Panthers to 0-6.
