Collins leads Leroy to 44-14 win over Washington County

LEROY — Ja’Kavien “Caveman” Collins ran for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead No. 2-ranked Class 1A Leroy to a 44-14 win over Class 2A Washington County Thursday night.

Collins scored on runs of 37 and 2 yards and 1 yard and connected with Jacory Yelder on a 73-yard touchdown pass.

Timothy Parnell also came up big for the Bears (6-0) with a 65-yard scoop-and-score. Josh Reed added a 6-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for Leroy, which won its 10th straight on the field in the series.

The Bulldogs (4-2) got a 33-yard TD run from Kelin May and quarterback Conner Williams scored on a 1-yard run.
