BID NOTICES
The city of Chickasaw is soliciting quotations for bids for a multi-purpose business to operate at our boat launch located at Brooks Park on highway 43 N in Chickasaw, AL.
The ideal entity will provide at its own expense, an aesthetically pleasing structure to operate from approved by the city council, with the main intent to collect launch fees for the city, sell and or rent Kayaks and watch over the park from sunup to sundown, at least during the period between March 15th thru October 15th.
In exchange for this service, the city will waive the business license requirement. The lease term is 12 months, renewable for an additional 12-months with city council’s approval. The business will be permitted to sell items convenient for boaters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiast. This combination of services is ideal and would meet the needs of the city.
The business site is shown in the picture below (see yellow squared off area)
Interested parties are requested to submit a proposal outlining how they intend to operate the business in terms of staffing, daily operation, management, handling of the city’s money, maintenance, flooding and severe weather threats. Any other value-added benefit you wish to include is welcome. Drawings and mock ups of your business idea is encouraged.
Proposals must be received by 12 noon on May 1st. The city council will discuss all proposals and plan on making a selection among proposals received at the May 12th council meeting beginning at 6 pm.

The Board of School Commissioners of Mobile County request qualifications from Architects to furnish design services for a Maritime Career Technical School.
Response to the RFQ will be accepted until 2:00pm (Central Time Zone) on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Purchasing Office at 1 Magnum Pass, Mobile, AL 36618. Responses may be hand delivered or by mail on the date as indicated above. ELECTRONIC RESPONSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. All responses received after 2:00 pm May 12, 2026, will be returned unopened.
Design contracts shall be awarded only to Design Teams licensed by the State Licensing Board of Alabama and/or equivalent reciprocity certification, as required by the code of Alabama. MCPSS reserves the right to select, re-advertise and/or reject any proposal for any reason.

All Bidders shall have general liability and workman’s compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate.
The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In Forty-five (45) Working Days.
A Bidding Proposal may be purchased for $5.00. Plans may be purchased for $12.00 per set. Plans and Proposals are available at the Alabama Department of Transportation, 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Room E-108, Montgomery, AL 36110. Minimum wage rates for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. This project is subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations.
Cashier’s check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum – $50,000.00) made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith.
