MOBILE — Jeremiah Johnson rushed for 125 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown run, to lead Davidson to its only victory this season, a 21-20 win over B.C. Rain 21-20 Thursday night.
The Warriors avoided their first winless season in school history while the Red Raiders (0-10) finished with their third winless season in school history (2007 and 2018).
Darryl Blackmon tossed a pair of TD passes for Rain — 49 yards to Braylon Fogg and 16 yards to Joshua Mosley — and led the Red Raiders with 112 yards on 17 carries, adding a TD run with 2:53 remaining.
Micah Spivey recovered an onside kick and picked up the final first down with 1:30 left to secure Davidson’s victory.
“Micah has been the heart and soul of this team all season, so it’s very fitting for him to finish it off for us,” Warriors coach John Lambert said.
Spivey, a senior, opened Davidson’s scoring with a 2-yard pass to Kingston Butler. Spivey completed 12 of 19 passes for 150 yards.
“It wasn’t my best game tonight but I’m so proud of this team for rallying around each other for this win,” Spivey said.
